About The Visitor Returns
The Visitor Returns is a 2011 point-and-click horror game developed by ClickShake (Zeebarf Studios). It’s the sequel to the cult classic The Visitor (2007), where players control a small, parasitic alien slug that crash-lands on Earth with a single-minded goal: devour everything in its path to grow stronger, mutate, and conquer the planet. This installment amps up the gore, horror, and puzzle complexity, featuring more creative kill sequences and a bloody finale with multiple endings.
How to play
Controls
- Mouse Only: Everything is point-and-click. Left-click on objects, creatures in the environment to interact with them. Hover your cursor over items to see if they’re clickable (they often highlight or animate slightly).
Gameplay
The core mechanic is chaining actions to access prey. You can’t directly chomp everything at first, the slug is vulnerable and needs to use the environment cleverly. For example:
- Manipulate objects (e.g., plug in a cord to start a lawnmower and scare off a raccoon).
- Absorb abilities from devoured creatures (e.g., eat a frog to gain a tongue lash, or a bird for flight).
- Chain kills: Devour small critters first to grow, then tackle bigger ones like dogs or humans.
Each successful kill makes the Visitor larger, stronger, and unlocks new forms/attacks. You’ll mutate multiple times, gaining grotesque upgrades like tentacles or acidic spit. The goal is total domination, eat everything to trigger the next phase.
