About Silent Lullaby
Silent Lullaby is a short horror adventure game developed by Darkenauts Studio and released in 2017. It’s a point-and-click title emphasizing exploration, puzzle-solving, and a dark, atmospheric story. The story follows protagonist Hector, who finds himself trapped in a dark, silent asylum-like environment representing a struggle with mental disorders, primarily schizophrenia.
The narrative aims to immerse players in a state of confusion and dread, with a depressing atmosphere, jump scares, and themes of self-destruction. It features a 1-hour long story mode with three different endings, depending on player choices and puzzle outcomes.
How to play
Your main goal is to escape the dark, madness-filled place by exploring interconnected rooms, collecting items, and solving a variety of puzzles. Puzzles range from finding hidden objects, deciphering codes (e.g., chest passwords with subtle hints), to environmental interactions like spotting differences in animations (such as with “eye plants” that require close observation of idle behaviors).
- Exploration: Click on hotspots in the environment to move or investigate. The game world is dimly lit, so pay attention to details like bloodstains, notes, or unusual objects.
- Inventory: Collect items by clicking on them; combine or use them on other objects via drag-and-drop or right-click menus.
- Puzzles: Many are tricky and may involve trial-and-error. Hints are often environmental or require interpreting vague clues. For example, some solutions depend on noticing asymmetries or patterns in the scenery.
- Jump Scares: Be prepared for sudden, context-free scares (e.g., a loud noise and face appearing randomly) to heighten tension.
- Endings: Replay sections or make different choices in key puzzles to unlock the three endings. The game saves progress, allowing you to continue or check endings from the menu.
