About Undergarf: Bad Monday Simulator
Undergarf: Bad Monday Simulator is a fan-made game that blends the worlds of the comic strip Garfield by Jim Davis and the RPG Undertale by Toby Fox. Released in 2022, it’s a parody boss battle simulator created by artist Lumpy Touch, programmer Spasco, and musician Polarial.
In the game’s lore, “Undergarf” is a peaceful, carefree dimension where characters from Garfield and Undertale have fused together. It’s a world free from war, strife, and most importantly, Mondays. You play as Nermal, the cute but mischievous kitten from Garfield, who stumbles into this realm and challenges Sansfield, a lazy, lasagna-loving fusion of Sans from Undertale and Garfield himself to an epic duel. The story explores themes of laziness, annoyance, and the horrors of Mondays through humorous dialogue and pixel art animations.
How to play
Before the battle begins, select your difficulty:
- Normal: 100 HP, access to all items. Ideal for beginners.
- Hard: 50 HP, limited items. More challenging.
- Monday: 1 HP, no items. Extremely difficult (even the creators admit it’s nearly impossible).
Controls
- Arrow Keys or W.A.S.D: Move your soul (the red heart) during bullet hell phases to dodge attacks.
- Z or Enter: Confirm selections in menus and dialogue.
- X: Cancel or go back.
- C: Hold to speed up dialogue (if available).
Battle Menu
- Fight: Attack Sansfield to deplete his HP. Timing your strikes can deal more damage.
- Pray: A unique action that sometimes summons a “Pasta Fairy” for rare healing items like lasagna. Use it early to stockpile.
- Item: Use consumables (e.g., food) to restore HP. Items first cure any poison/karma (shown as purple HP that ticks down over time) before healing.
- Mercy (or No Mercy): Spare Sansfield or finish him off once his HP is low. This leads to different endings.
Dodging Attacks
- Sansfield unleashes bullet hell patterns, like bones, lasers, and Garfield-themed projectiles (e.g., flying lasagnas or coffee mugs).
- Move your soul within a boxed arena to avoid them. Attacks vary by phase and difficulty—expect faster, denser patterns in harder modes.
