About Syndicate Kapitaler
Syndicate Kapitaler, also known as KapiTaler or SyndiCate, is an online strategic board game designed for 2-4 players. It draws inspiration from classic business simulation games like Monopoly, where players compete in a virtual business world by acquiring industries, forming monopolies, and building branches to maximize profits. The gameplay revolves around rolling dice, moving tokens around a board, purchasing industries, and collecting payments from other players who land on owned properties.
How to play
Players take turns in a clockwise order. On your turn:
- Roll the Dice: Click to roll virtual dice, which determine how many spaces your token moves forward on the board.
- Move Your Token: Advance your token the number of spaces shown on the dice. The board is circular, so passing the starting point may grant bonuses (similar to “Go” in Monopoly).
- Land on a Space: If you land on an unsold industry, you have the option to purchase it at the price listed on the board. Owned industries are marked with the player’s color.
- Form Monopolies: Industries are grouped into sectors by color. If you own all industries in a sector, it becomes a monopoly, allowing you to build branches.
- Build Branches: Before rolling the dice on your turn, you can build up to five branches per industry in a monopoly sector. Each branch increases the payment opponents must make when landing there (e.g., higher rent).
- Pay or Collect Fees: If you land on an opponent’s industry, pay the specified amount to them. Payments escalate based on the number of branches built.
- Other Actions: The game includes features like trading industries with other players to form monopolies faster, and special spaces for events like taxes, bonuses, or penalties.
