Escaping the Prison is a hilarious and inventive point-and-click adventure game developed by Puffballs Unite. It’s the second installment in the Henry Stickmin series, serving as a direct sequel to Breaking the Bank (where the protagonist, Henry Stickmin, gets caught during a heist) and a prequel to Stealing the Diamond.
In this game, you’re thrust into the role of Henry Stickmin, who’s been locked up in the high-security West Mesa Penitentiary after his previous botched robbery. The story kicks off when two police officers, Dave Panpa and Rupert Price, deliver a mysterious package to your cell. What starts as a seemingly innocuous visit spirals into a chaotic bid for freedom, where everyday prison items (and some wildly improbable gadgets) become tools for your getaway.
How to play Escaping The Prison
- Use your mouse to interact with objects, characters, or prompts on screen. Click on clickable items (they’re usually highlighted or glow slightly) to examine or use them.
- The game is choice-driven. At key moments (like choosing how to deal with a guard or what tool to use), you’ll see a menu of 3-5 options. Each choice branches the story—some lead to progress, others to instant fails (complete with funny animations and sound effects).
- The package contains a random “contraband” tool (e.g., a plunger, drill, or laser cutter). You’ll use it creatively throughout the prison, bribing guards, hacking doors, or causing distractions.
- Some paths include simple challenges, like a rhythm-based lockpicking mini-game or a button mashing escape sequence. These are forgiving and add variety without frustration.
