GET YOKED – Game Guide & Introduction

GET YOKED: Extreme Bodybuilding is a roguelike deck-building game where your goal is to grow, sculpt, and train a virtual bodybuilder to become an “absolute unit.”

You’ll use workout cards, rest cards, supplement cards, and more to manage gains, fatigue, and injuries—balancing risk and strategy as you progress through competitions.

Gameplay Mechanics

  • Deck Building & Cards: You build a deck of cards that let you train different muscle groups (like arms, glutes, etc.), rest, or use supplements to aid recovery. Each card has effects on “Gains” and on “Fatigue.”

  • Gains vs Fatigue vs Injury: If you push too hard, fatigue builds up. Too much fatigue may lead to injury, reducing your ability to train certain muscles temporarily. Rest or supplement cards help reduce fatigue and prevent injury.

  • Muscle Focus & Strategy: You can specialize (for example, focus on glutes or arms) to maximize gains in a particular area. But there’s trade-offs: focusing too much on one muscle group may mean you neglect others or risk fatigue/injury.

  • Competitions: There are bodybuilding contests where meeting minimum gain thresholds is required. To win, you must reach target numbers for specific muscles or total “Gains” while managing your overall condition.

Controls & Interface

  • Use the mouse to click or drag-drop cards, select options, and make decisions.

  • The game shows cards in hand, your character’s current gains/fatigue, and tracks which muscles have been worked more or less. Visuals change depending on how musculature develops.

Tips & Strategy

  1. Balance workout and rest: Push cardio/muscle growth, but use rest/supplement cards when needed to avoid injury.

  2. Don’t ignore weaker muscles: While specializing is tempting, neglecting weaker areas or overworking one muscle can make your progress inefficient or risky.

  3. Manage fatigue carefully: Fatigue is not just a cost—it’s a risk. If injury happens, it can slow you down badly.

  4. Plan your deck: As you unlock cards or get new ones, think about synergies. Some cards may give large gains but high fatigue; others moderate gains with less risk.

  5. Know your competition goals: If a competition demands certain minimums, structure your training to hit those – even if it’s not maximizing gains everywhere.
