About Google Solitaire
Google Solitaire is a free, browser-based version of the classic Klondike Solitaire card game. The game uses a standard 52-card deck and emphasizes strategic card arrangement. Unlike more feature heavy apps, Google’s version keeps things simple with clean graphics, smooth animations, and basic options like undo and hints. It offers two difficulty levels: Easy (drawing one card at a time from the stock) and Hard (drawing three cards) to suit different skill levels. Scoring is based on moves and time, encouraging faster completions for higher scores.
How to play Google Solitaire
Google Solitaire begins with 28 cards randomly distributed into 7 columns on the table. The first column has 1 card, the second column has 2 cards, and so on. The last card in each column is turned face up, while the other cards are turned face down. The remaining 24 cards are placed in the reserve pile for use when needed. There are 4 empty background spaces on the right side for arranging the cards in order from Ace to King, sorted by suit.
Move cards
- You can move face up cards between columns. The card to be moved must be one rank lower and of a different color (red or black) than the card it is placed on. For example, a 3 of Spades (black) can be placed on a 4 of Hearts (red).
- A sequence of cards arranged in descending order and alternating colors can be moved together to another column.
- Only a K or a sequence of cards starting with a K can be placed in the empty 7 column.
Using the Stock
- When you have no more valid moves, you can turn over a card from the Stock. Depending on the game mode, you can draw 1 card or 3 cards at a time.
- The cards from the Stock can be used to place in the columns or the background.
Putting cards in the background
- The cards placed in the background must be of the same suit and in ascending order.
- When all 52 cards are placed correctly in the 4 background boxes, the game is complete.
