About Drift Hunters
Drift Hunters is a 3D drifting game that lets players master the art of controlled slides in high-performance tuner cars across a variety of tracks and playgrounds. You start with a classic Toyota AE86 and 25,000 credits to get things rolling, earning more through high-score drifts to unlock new vehicles like Nissan Silvias or Toyota Supras, along with extensive tuning options. The game features ten tracks (eight circuits and two open areas) that cater to beginners and pros alike, from forgiving streets to technical mountain passes.
How to play Drift Hunters
Controls
- Acceleration/Throttle: Up arrow key (build speed and power into drifts).
- Brake: Down arrow key (tap for control during slides).
- Handbrake (E-Brake): Space bar (lock rear wheels to initiate drifts).
- Steer Left/Right: Left/Right arrow keys (counter-steer to maintain angle).
- Shift Up/Down (Manual Gearbox): Left Shift (up) / Left Ctrl (down)—switch to manual in Options for better control.
Drifting Techniques
- E-Brake Method (Beginner-Friendly): Approach a corner at moderate speed, tap Space to swing the rear out, then counter-steer and feather the throttle to catch it.
- Power Over Method (Advanced): Accelerate hard into the turn to transfer weight forward, causing the rear to break loose, ideal for high-speed entries.
Upgrading and Tuning Your Car
- Parts Menu: Prioritize turbo and engine upgrades first—they boost power to sustain long drifts. Then add suspension, tires, and brakes.
- Tuning Menu: Adjust ride height (lower for better grip), camber (negative for cornering), offset, braking balance, and turbo pressure. Experiment for your driving style.
- Visuals Menu: Customize paint, rims, and decals for style points (doesn’t affect performance).
