About Retro Racing: Double Dash
Retro Racing: Double Dash is a arcade style Formula 1 racing game developed by Ricardo Moran (under the handle “Richo”) for the 32bit Spring Cleaning 2024 game jam. Released in March 2024, it’s a spiritual successor to the developer’s earlier title, Retro Racing: Super Circuit, and blends the thrill of fast-paced F1 racing with nostalgic 1990s low-poly, pixel-art visuals and smooth, responsive physics. The game emphasizes high-speed maneuvers, precise drifting, and strategic track navigation across classic-inspired circuits featuring long straights, sharp turns.
How to play
Retro Racing: Double Dash focuses on intuitive, arcade-style racing where the goal is to outpace opponents (or the clock) by mastering acceleration, braking, steering, and drifting on varied tracks. The game offers three core modes to suit different playstyles:
- Time Trial: Race solo against the clock to set personal bests.
- Race vs. CPU: Compete against computer-controlled bots in head-to-head races. AI difficulty adjusts to your skill level
- Online Multiplayer: Jump into real-time races against global players.
